MICHELLE DOWLE
Glass artist
Working from her garden studio in the New Forest, Michelle, a self-taught glass artist for the past 14 years, creates beautiful, innovative and decorative art using glass fusion techniques.

Michelle was initially inspired to create with this wonderful medium when visiting Cornwall. After meeting fellow artists and attending a range of master classes, she has developed her knowledge and skill in glass chemistry and fusion techniques. She enjoys experimenting with designs that reflect her natural surroundings including the changing colours and textures of the forest, the reflections of the sea and abstract variations of nature. She uses a variety of fusible glass, silver and copper inclusions and enamel paints to create unique individual pieces of glass art, jewellery and decorative home pieces.

Michelle increasingly likes to capture key memories and moments in time, incorporating meaningful locations and loved ones within unique and eye-catching glass designs and has actively developed her skills regarding the creation of vibrant portraits in glass. She is happy to discuss and create bespoke glass art creations.
